Opening Party - Sunday May 20th

The first party of the season will be Sunday May 20th at 4pm. We look forward to meeting our new members, guests and seeing old friends. Format will be round robin followed by food and drink. Members are asked to bring a dish for our buffet table - beverages provided by the Club. Sign up sheet is posted at the clubhouse. Please join us and bring a friend (or two!)…this event is free!

2012 Tennis Drills

This year our Pro John Bacha has enlisted the aid of Tom Keating in offering our members some additional teaching/drill programs. Tom currently heads the Washington Township tennis program and is also the assistant coach for the Kingsway H.S. boys tennis team. Tom will be available on weekends should any member need tennis assistance and also provide the following programs:

FREE LADIES DRILL SESSION!! MONTH OF MAY

Starting Thursday, May 10th at 6:00 pm, Tom will be offering a free Ladies Drill for the month of May for all those players ranked 3.0 and above. Sorry Ladies, this free offer can’t go on forever, so starting in June the Thurs. drill session will be $10-$15 depending on the number of players. This is a great way to come out and meet Tom and get some competition at the same time, so help support this program!

SENIORS/ RETIREES SPECIAL!!

For all those 55 and above, Tom will offer a one hour drill on Monday morning at 11:00 am starting on May 7th. The May 7th session will be complimentary and thereafter the fee will be $10.00 per player. Get the word out and the more players we get, we can also add a round robin.

GRANDKIDS/TENNIS FOR TOTS SPECIAL!! - Free session on Sat. May 12th

Saturday mornings starting May 12th, Tom plans on having two tennis for tots classes aimed at two separate age groups. Each Saturday thereafter, he will offer a Pee-Wee (ages 5-6) package of four 45 minute classes, limited to six students, with a fee of $38.00 for the four lessons. Time will be from 10:15 to 11:00 am. For those a little older (ages 7-8), the same format will be used at the same cost with the time being 11:00 to 11:45. Anyone interested in signing up of if you have any questions about the above program, please feel free to contact Tom Keating at: 856-401-1963. This is also open to non-members, so if there are any neighborhood friends, please let them know.

MEN’S DRILL

Starting Tuesday, May 1st at 6:00 pm we will have our Mens drill resuming so please let everyone know… the more the merrier! This is also open to non-members, so it’s a great way to bring a friend and introduce him to the club!

SATURDAY MORNING DRILL:

In addition to the drills described above, Hyacinth Yorke, a local pro, will be running a drill on the hard courts from 8 to 9:30 Saturday mornings. Cost is $35 per person. Contact Hy by Wednesday regarding your interest and let her know your approximate NTRP level, if known. Payment is due at the time of the drill and if you cancel less than 24 hours before the drill you are responsible for payment. Spring Teams Home Match Schedules 2012

There are two HFC ladies teams that play in the Women’s Interclub Tennis Association of Philadelphia league. One team plays Monday mornings, the other Wednesday mornings. Members playing weekday mornings are asked to have courts swept and ready for the teams by 9:45am on the following home match dates:

Monday April 30th
Wednesday May 2nd
Wednesday May 9th
Wednesday May 16th
Monday May 21st
Tuesday May 29th (Mon. team playing Tues. due to Memorial Day holiday)
Monday June 4th
Wednesday June 6th

Bishop Eustace Schedule - Spring 2012

New Signup for Weekly Email Messages

If you would like to be on the Haddon Field Club email list and receive weekly messages during the outdoor tennis season, note that there is a new way to sign up. Instead of entering your email address on the right side of the HFC website home page, simply send your email address to: HFCTennis@gmail.com and request to be added to the list. The old list has been transferred over to the new system, so chances are if you were getting the weekly emails in the past, you don’t need to do anything. If there is any doubt or if you have multiple addresses and want to confirm the correct one, etc - feel free to send a message to this address.
